After opening his own practice in 1955, he co-founded Artemide with Ernesto Gismondi in 1960, helping establish one of the most influential companies in Italian lighting design. That same year, his work for Artemide received a Compasso d’Oro selection. From 1961, he worked with Giuliana Gramigna at Studio Smc.
