Piero Gatti, Cesare Paolini & Franco Teodoro

Starting in 1965, Piero Gatti, Cesare Paolini, and Franco Teodoro formed a collaboration that developed a design practice spanning architecture, product design, furniture, and urban research. Their work emerged within the climate of radical experimentation of the 1960s, challenging traditional housing typologies and the relationship between object and behavior. With the Sacco chair, designed in 1968, the group introduced a concept of seating that was free, informal, and unstructured, transforming the object into an experience and redefining the very notion of comfort. The project thus became a critical tool, capable of reflecting the social and cultural changes of the time.
