Abaco Suspension Lamp

Suspension lamp designed by Monica Guggisberg & Philip Baldwin for Venini, 1998.

Abaco is composed of five hand-blown glass spheres, crafted using a range of traditional techniques and each containing a light source. The ceiling fitting is balanced by a counterweight at the base, from which the power cable emerges, while an adjustable steel cable allows the lamp to be set to different heights. The piece reflects Venini’s mastery of Italian glassmaking, combining artisanal refinement with a distinctly contemporary design language.
