Franz West

Born in Vienna in 1947, Franz West used design as a tool to challenge the relationship between object, body, and use. His furniture and seating were conceived as extensions of physical experience, meant to be touched, used, and interpreted freely. West approached design as an open-ended gesture, where function, ergonomics, and form lose rigidity to encourage direct and spontaneous interaction with the user.
