Gio Ponti

Born in Milan in 1891, Gio Ponti was an Italian architect and designer, also active as a critic, artistic director, and publisher. Founder of the magazine Domus, he played a central role in shaping an Italian design culture open to international dialogue. In his work, architecture, furnishings, and objects coexist without hierarchy, forming parts of a single expressive system. Ponti conceived design as both an intellectual and everyday practice, capable of uniting industry and craftsmanship, experimentation and tradition, proposing a vision of living that is flexible, luminous, and profoundly modern.
