Suspension lamp designed by Monica Guggisberg & Philip Baldwin for Venini, 1998.
Abaco brings together five hand-blown glass elements, each crafted using a different traditional technique and illuminated from within. The composition is anchored at the base by a counterweight, which also houses the power-cable connection, while the adjustable steel suspension cable allows the height to be adapted to the space. The lamp reflects Venini’s mastery of glassmaking, combining craft, colour and a contemporary design language.

Monica Guggisberg and Philip Baldwin have worked together for over forty years, creating work that moves between art, design and exceptional glass craftsmanship. Since founding their studio in 1982, they have collaborated with leading international manufacturers. Their distinctive language is shaped by colour, light, texture and archetypal form. In recent years their practice has become increasingly sculptural, with major installations and museum exhibitions across Europe.
