Fausto Stool

Stool designed by Novello Finotti for Simon International, Ultramobile edition, 1972.

Somewhere between a functional object and a small domestic sculpture, Fausto belongs to Simon International’s most experimental and visionary period. Its compact, anthropomorphic form is cast in polished bronze, while the lambskin upholstery adds a soft, tactile and unexpected contrast. Designed in 1972 for the Ultramobile edition, the seat brings a surrealist presence into everyday life, turning function into something ironic and highly expressive.
