Josep Maria Jujol
Josep Maria Jujol i Gibert was a Catalan architect and designer born in Tarragona in 1879. After studying architecture in Barcelona, he became a close collaborator of Antoni Gaudí, contributing to projects including Casa Batlló, La Pedrera and Park Güell, where his sense of colour, material and decorative invention played an important role. His independent work, from Casa Planells in Barcelona to Can Negre in Sant Joan Despí and the Metropol Theatre in Tarragona, combines structural imagination, craftsmanship and a deeply personal approach to form.
