Pepe Cortés
Pepe Cortés, born in Barcelona in 1946, is a Spanish designer known for a refined, essential approach to objects, interiors and furniture. He studied at the Eina School, where he later taught design, and co-founded Grupo Abierto de Diseño in the early 1970s. His work spans retail spaces, offices, restaurants and product design, with pieces produced by leading companies including BD Barcelona Design and Knoll. Cortés has received several FAD awards, the Santiago Marco Prize medal and Spain’s National Design Award in 2007. His projects have been featured in national and international exhibitions and publications.
