Ron Gilad, born in Tel Aviv in 1972, is a designer whose work moves between art, design, sculpture and industrial production. After moving to New York in 2001, he developed a practice centred on questioning the everyday objects that surround us, from lighting and bowls to chairs and architectural forms. His work combines wit, precision and formal play, often placing function at the edge of abstraction. Now based between Tel Aviv and Milan, Gilad’s work is held in collections including MoMA and The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
