Barrel Armchair
Frank Lloyd Wright
Production Cassina
Armchair designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for his home in Wisconsin, 1937.
Produced by Cassina from 1986 as part of the iMaestri collection.
Barrel translates Frank Lloyd Wright’s architectural language into the scale of a domestic armchair. Its curved slatted back and barrel-shaped frame create an enveloping form, while the walnut-stained natural cherry wood gives warmth and depth to the structure. The upholstered seat in brown Scozia leather adds comfort without softening the chair’s architectural character. Currently out of production, the model bears the Cassina iMaestri mark with the designer’s signature and serial number.

Frank Lloyd Wright
Born in Richland Center, Wisconsin, in 1867, Frank Lloyd Wright was an American architect and designer, a leading figure of the Modern Movement. His training fostered a vision of design grounded in primary forms, modularity, and the relationship between space and nature. Wright conceived architecture and design as organic systems, in which structure, function, and environment integrate into a unified living experience.
