Born in Isola della Scala in 1925, Bepi Fiori was an Italian designer who placed industrial research and experimental design at the core of his work. His practice reflects a consistent interest in transformability and in the interaction between object and body. Fiori conceived design as a field of flexible solutions, where projects respond to changing behaviors and needs rather than fixed forms.

Rocking chaise longue designed by Bepi Fiori for Bernini, 1970.
Designed as a transformable seat for different positions, this chaise longue explores relaxation through movement and flexibility. The solid beech frame holds a black leather seat, with an adjustable backrest and hinged footrest that allow it to shift between chaise longue, recliner and rocking chair. Its mechanism is not hidden, but treated as part of the design, giving the piece functional clarity and a strong sculptural presence. Produced in limited numbers, it is now a rare model.
