Tea trolley designed by Alvar Aalto for Artek, 1936.

With its generous bent-birch curves, Tea Trolley 901 turns a functional serving trolley into a distinctive design object. The lacquered birch frame supports two shelves available in linoleum or high-pressure laminate. The wheels are made from MDF and surrounded by black rubber rings that complete the design. Designed in 1936, the trolley reflects Aalto’s research into bent birch, used here not only as a structural element but as the defining principle of the form. The birch frame is available in natural or black finish, with white or black lacquered shelves.

Design: 1936
