Jasper Morrison

Jasper Morrison, born in London in 1959, is a British designer known for furniture, lighting and everyday objects defined by simplicity, familiarity and careful proportion. After studying at Kingston Polytechnic, the Royal College of Art and Berlin’s HdK, he founded his London studio in 1986.

His practice began with ready-made components and small-batch pieces, including the Handlebar Table of 1982, before moving towards essential designs such as the Plywood Chair of 1988. Collaborations with Vitra, Flos, Magis and Alessi later brought this approach into industrial production. The Glo-Ball lighting family for Flos reflects his interest in familiar, understated forms that integrate naturally into everyday surroundings.
