Mitchell Mauk

Mitchell Mauk is an American designer and founder of Mauk Design, established in San Francisco in 1986. Trained at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, he began his career working with Saul Bass before joining BMW Designworks USA and later contributing to early design projects for Apple and Herman Miller.

His practice moves between product design, exhibition design and visual communication, with particular attention to the relationship between objects, images and space. Mauk was the first American designer to have a lighting design produced by Artemide. His work has received numerous international awards and is held in the permanent collection of the Library of Congress in Washington.
