Cicatrices de Luxe Pendant Lamp

Philippe Starck

Production Flos

€1.500,00

Pendant lamp designed by Philippe Starck for Flos, early 2000s.

The lamp combines technological experimentation with a light, delicate composition, with a square glass plate holding three vases of different sizes. The light sources sit within the vases, powered by conductive circuits embedded in the glass itself. A chromed steel tube forms the suspension, connecting the lamp to a square ceiling canopy. Now out of production, Cicatrices de Luxe belongs to the collection of the same name and reflects Philippe Starck’s exploration of the concept of luxury.

Design: early 2000s
Dimensions: W 32 × D 32 × H 76 cm

Philippe Starck

Born in Paris in 1949, Philippe Starck is a French architect and designer active in product design, interiors, and architecture. From the beginning of his career, he has developed a direct and cross-disciplinary approach to design, rejecting rigid distinctions between everyday objects and designer pieces. Starck conceives design as a democratic tool, capable of improving life through accessible, intelligent, and often provocative solutions. In his work, function, irony, and communication coexist, making the object a means to reflect on the relationship between industry, consumption, and contemporary behavior.
